Joining your Sigma 38 at Inverness Marina you will enjoy a night of relaxation in your own cabin before setting off for Clachnaharry Sea lock and the entrance to the Caledonian Canal. After transiting the two locks and the swing bridge you will sail the length of the wonderful Loch Ness. A stop for lunch and perhaps a swim under the shadow of Urquhart castle before arriving at Fort Augustus ready for the flight of locks taking you up to the high point of the canal. Sailing past Ben Nevis and experiencing this stunning landscape is quite amazing as is the feat of engineering that is "Neptunes Staircase" as you descend to the sea lock at Corpach basin.
Late on Friday afternoon you will arrive in Oban ready to depart on Saturday morning. Oban has good transport links to get home by train ,air or road. This trip is suitable for anyone and has the added bonus of supporting Farleigh Hospice with £500 of your trip cost being donated to the Hospice.
