The course will cover:  the basics of seamanship; the essentials of coastal navigation and pilotage; chart work; electronic charts; position fixing; plotting a course to steer; weather forecasting and meteorology; tides; collision regulations; construction, parts and equipment of a cruising boat; emergency and safety procedures including distress calls, use of flares, safety harnesses, lifejackets and liferafts.

This course is held in our large classroom in Chelmsford with plenty of space to socially distance etc.

The dates are 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th of September, and 4th, 11th, 18th and 23rd of October 2021.
